Description
Kids with Special Needs This refers to any child who may need extra help because of a medical, emotional, or learning problem. These children have special needs. They may need medication, therapy, or extra help in their daily lives. This extra help includes things that other children do not usually need, or only need occasionally. Children who need a wheelchair to get around, or who use canes to walk, have special needs that the childminder should be aware of. Not only do these children need equipment that helps them move around, but they may also need to have a ramp or elevator available. They may also need to ride a special bus to school. A bus that takes them onto the bus with a special lift so they don't have to climb stairs. Children with conditions, epilepsy or diabetes will also have special needs. They may need medication or other help during the day. Children with vision problems may use special apps, tablets or computers to read. Children with learning difficulties often have special needs. Children with Down syndrome may go to a regular school, but these children have special needs when it comes to learning.
