NAD+ consuming enzymes play an important role in fundamental cellular processes and have been shown to be involved in various diseases and the extension of lifespan. To understand underlying mechanisms and to find potential enzyme activators or inhibitors, the approach of chemical probes has proven to be successful on some enzymes, but broadening the applicability and discovering new probes is still an important goal.

Lausch, JakobJakob Lausch (born 1990) grew up in Hollabrunn, Lower Austria. From 2009 to 2014, he studied pharmacy at the University of Vienna (Mag.pharm.). During an Erasmus exchange semester, he joined Dr Gerd Wagner at King's College London to work on NAD+ analogues.
