This text addresses the question of how T cells activate macrophage effector function. Current research is rapidly forcing a revision of our hypothesis on T cell-mediated macrophage activation. This book begins at a basic level, describing the different functions of macrophages and how they are induced and regulated, and leading the reader through to current research on cytokine and cell-contact dependent mechanisms by which T cells signal macrophage function.
