This international symposium on cancer research was organized under the auspices of the WATOC (World Association of Theoretical Organic Chemists). Therefore, its primary focus was molecular and theoretical biochemistry rather than clinical medicine. The text is divided into sections on: biochemistry and molecular biology of cancer; molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis by chemical, viral or physical factors; metabolic fate and control of chemical carcinogens; structure-carcinogenic activity relationship and other QSAR related to cancer;chemical factors in environmental etiology of cancer; and antitumour agents.
