The volume contains the main papers presented at the 1991 EUROTOX congress, Maastricht, in September 1-4, 1991. Within a general framework of medical toxicology, recent progress is highlighted in the fields of clinical toxicology, in which forensic aspects are included, biochemical toxicology, which particularly emphasizes human studies, and risk assessment, in which human cells are used for studies in vitro. Regulatory aspects are also discussed.
