Il Centro Italo-Tedesco per l'Eccellenza Europea Villa Vigoni reputa suo compito prioritario partecipare alle discussioni attuali sul futuro dell'integrazione europea. Su iniziativa di Villa Vigoni sono stati raccolti i saggi di questo volume, a partire dalle riflessioni emerse nell'Unione europea durante il 60° anniversario dei Trattati di Roma. Villa Vigoni ha così voluto stimolare un dibattito in molteplici forme e da varie prospettive disciplinari - politica, storia, diritto, arte, musica - che si interroghi sulle strade percorse e su quelle che ancora rimangono da seguire in Europa.
Das Deutsch-Italienische Zentrum für Europäische Exzellenz Villa Vigoni versteht es als eine seiner vornehmsten Aufgaben, an den Debatten über die Zukunft der europäischen Integration teilzunehmen. Auf die Initiative der Villa Vigoni gehen die Beiträge dieses Bandes zurück, die anlässlich des 60. Jahrestages der Römischen Verträge entstanden sind. Mit ihren unterschiedlichen Ansätzen und Perspektiven, die Politik, Geschichte, Kunst, Musik und Recht einschließen, bieten die Beiträge einen Querschnitt der Diskussionen, der Rückblicke und Ausblicke auf Europa, die die Villa Vigoni angeregt hat.

Immacolata Amodeo, seit 2018 Direktorin des Ernst-Bloch-Zentrums der Stadt Ludwigshafen am Rhein. Honorarprofessur am Gutenberg-Institut für Weltliteratur und schriftorientierte Medien der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz.Christiane Liermann holds a PhD in the History of Political Thought (University of Zurich, Switzerland). Her areas of interest include the history of the German-Italian Relations and the role of Religion in Society. She is Scholar at the German-Italian Center Villa Vigoni.Matteo Scotto holds a Master Degree in European Governance and Regulation at the Centre for European Integration Studies (ZEI) of Bonn. He is now a Phd candidate in Political Science at the University of Bonn and fellow of the research project "RUB-Europadialog" at the University of Bochum. His work focuses on a comparative study on the development of political identities in Europe and in the United States.
