Die Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Frage nach der Legitimität von Shame Sanctions, einer Sanktionsform, die seit den 1980er Jahren in den USA verhängt wird. Ausgangspunkt ist die intuitive Ablehnung, die Shame Sanctions hervorrufen. In der Arbeit werden maßgebliche Faktoren für das Aufkommen der Shame Sanctions herausgearbeitet, die verfassungsrechtliche und straftheoretische Diskussion analysiert und eine Begründung für die intuitive Ablehnung präsentiert. »Shame Sanctions - (il)legitimate form of punishment? From 2016 to 2018, she worked as student assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg. After completing her first law state examination in 2018, she worked as research assistant at the law department headed by Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Michael Pawlik, L.L.M. (Cantab.) at the Institute of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg until 2021, where she researched as doctoral scholar of the Heinrich Böll Foundation. Since October 2022 Egzona Hyseni is a legal trainee at the OLG Karlsruhe.
