The problem of interaction between the new and the established in literature is one of the most acute, interesting and, at the same time, insufficiently studied. This is largely due to the fact that "traditionalists" and "innovators" both in literature and in literary studies prefer to defend their positions and do not often listen to their opponents. The purpose of this monograph is to attempt to build another bridge between the old and new schools of literary studies by analyzing works and genres in which authors, figuratively speaking, "play on each other's field".
