Description
(Text)
Aspergillus niger is an most common cause of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis in lungs & industrially major citric acid producing fungi. It accounts for over 90% of global citric acid production. A. niger has also been given the status of 'Generally Regarded As Safe' (GRAS) by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) therefore used for agro-food applications. A niger is a model organism for several research areas including study of eukaryotic protein secretion, and also helps in studying the effects of various environmental factors on enzymes. Despite extensive commercial application over time, there has been limited available information on its genetic makeup and genetic tools. This book will help in proper understanding and mechanism of regulatory enzymes in the metabolism of Aspergillus niger ,which will further aid in reliable & prompt diagnosis of its infection.
