The most important and precious thing only a mother can give to her offspring is breast milk. An Unability to feed her offspring due to low breast milk volume disturbs most mothers. Breast milk is an opaque white liquid produced by the mammary glands of the female. It provides the primary sources of nutrition for newborn. The herb fenugreek can increases milk supply, and is called a galactagogue. This herb has phytoestrogens and is famous as a breast milk stimulant in helping mothers lactate. It is considered a galactagogue in that it helps increase lactating women's milk supplies. It is also said to cause breast enlargement. Due to lack of well studied medicinal facts there are limited evidence on how to take, safe dosage and effects of the herb on other body systems. It needs to be used in moderation with the advice of a certified herbalist plus pregnant women do not need to consume Fenugreek since it may bring premature labor. This book contains the conducted study and resultto proof the effect of fenugreek seed in augmenting expressed breast milk volume in mothers of preterm infants.

Mrs. Misrach is working in Dilla University as a lecturer of human physiology in department of biomedical science. She has obtained her MSc from AAU and conducted the experimental study on how to augment breast milk volume which is a good step to approach the problem of most mothers. She is interested in conducting similar studies.
