Full Description
Overall, gastric cancer is the number 2 cancer death cause in the world. However, there is a great regional difference in incidence, the highest rate being found in men in northeast Asia (Japan, Korea and China). Just as incidence varies, there are also differences in screening programs and treatment strategies between Eastern and Western countries. In this publication, experts in the field of gastric cancer from both the East and the West impart their evidence-based view as well as express their expert opinion on topics that are still being discussed. These include lymph node dissection, sentinel node navigation surgery, adjuvant and neoadjuvant therapies, laparoscopic gastrectomy, various methods of gastric cancer staging, underlying molecular mechanisms, and palliative treatment.
