This study defines the term of aggregate quality on the basis of company's functional capabilities, i.e., that of productivity, flexibility, and product quality. Those capabilities are causally related to the company's competitive capacity and its dimensions. Thus, a systematic improvement of aggregate quality provides the primary support to the competitive power, and finally to the profitability of a company.
Following to the theoretical treatment of the aggregate quality issue, a program aiming the quality improvement in a chemical plant is presented.
