Im vorliegenden Buch hinterfragt Kampotela Luc Bulundwe die Rolle von 2 Timotheus (2 Tim) innerhalb des paulinischen Korpus aus der Perspektive des sozialen Gedächtnisses. Er argumentiert, dass die literarische Abschiedsrede, die Paulus zugeschrieben wird, als hermeneutischer Schlüssel zur Verbreitung der paulinischen Literatur beiträgt. Das Buch gliedert sich in drei Teile; erstens in historische und methodische Aspekte, zweitens in eine detaillierte Analyse des Briefes und drittens in eine Untersuchung der Personen, der geographischen Orte und der Zitate der sieben unumstrittenen paulinischen Briefe und des Kolosserbriefes in 2 Tim. Der Beitrag dieser heuristischen Studie liegt in der spezifischen Betrachtung von 2 Tim, jenseits des Korpus der Pastoralbriefe. Dabei wird die entscheidende Rolle deutlich, die 2 Tim im Corpus Paulinum in einer Übergangszeit in der apostolischen Leitung spielt.
In this volume, Kampotela Luc Bulundwe questions the role of 2 Timothy (2 Tim) within the Pauline corpus through the lens of social memory approaches, arguing that the farewell speech assigned to Paul contributes, as a hermeneutic key, to the spreading of Pauline literature. Divided into three parts, the first deals with historical and methodological features, the second analyses the letter in detail, and the third investigates the characters, the geographical places, and the quotations of the seven undisputed Pauline letters and Colossians in 2 Tim. The main originality of this heuristic study is its specific consideration of 2 Tim, which goes beyond the corpus of the Pastorals. This demonstrates the crucial role that 2 Tim plays in the Corpus Paulinum during a time of transition in apostolic governance.
