Die Internationale Akademie der Rechtsvergleichung veranstaltet vom 25.-31. Juli 2010 den 18. Internationalen Kongress für Rechtsvergleichung in Washington D.C. In ca. 30 verschiedenen Abteilungen werden Themen aller Rechtsgebiete in vergleichender Perspektive behandelt: von der Auslegung komplexer Rechtsquellen über die Wahlrechte von Ausländern, Fragen der Corporate Governance und Leasingverträge bis hin zur Leihmutterschaft, der Internet-Kriminalität, der Public Private Partnership, dem Klimarecht und den Grenzen des geistigen Eigentums. Auf der Grundlagen von Fragebögen, die ein renommierter Experte als Generalberichterstatter des jeweiligen Rechtsgebietes ausgearbeitet hat, sind zahlreiche Landesberichte für jedes Thema erstellt worden. Die meisten deutschen Landesberichte sind in diesem Buch zusammengefasst und werden hiermit der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert.
