In the opening chapters of the book, Mirko Tos provides a thorough overview of this class of procedures, including a classification of 23 original cartilage tympanoplasty methods. Each of the following chapters offers a detailed exposition of a different method, presenting its definition, indication, graft harvesting and shaping, surgical technique, and an analysis of the anatomical and functional results based on a review of the literature and on personal experience. In the closing chapters, the author discusses long-term outcomes and compares the results of the various cartilage tympanoplasty methods.
