Description
The book series Beihefte zur Zeitschrift für romanische Philologie is among the most renowned publications in Romance Studies. It covers the entire field of Romance linguistics, including the national languages as well as the lesser studied Romance languages. The series publishes high-quality monographs and collected volumes on all areas of linguistic research, on medieval literature and on textual criticism.
The volume presents a comprehensive repertoire of the historical botanical lexicon of Neapolitan, documented from the late 13th to the 21st century, comprising 300 lexicographical entries. The first part defines and frames the field of study of popular plant nomenclature; the central section contains the repertoire itself; and the final part is devoted to commentary on the most significant linguistic phenomena found in the compiled entries.
