Description
This study examines how hypocrisy was portrayed in a corpus of Old French texts of the thirteenth century. The volume starts by discussing the terminological history of hypocrisy and relevant late medieval historical contexts in order to examine its different varieties. It pays special attention to the literary and rhetorical devices used to outline this ambivalent subject.
