Jahrhunderts (Reprints of German Literary Works from the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Centuries), founded in 1876 by Wilhelm Braune, has been continued since 1961 in this new series. Depending on the uniqueness and significance of the authors and works, the series publishes complete editions, selected editions, or individual works that require critical editions due to their importance and transmission history.
