Description
"The Secret International Policy of the SED, 1960 - 1970." (Text in German.)
In spite of the ritual incantation of "bilateral nonintervention", the SED's West German policy was marked by continuous attempts to influence West German political decisions. In the pursuit of this goal, the SED employed not only secret service methods, but an extensive strategy of infiltration and destabilization as well. Using documents from secret SED files, the author reconstructs this undercover policy. At the same time, it becomes clear that the German-German policy of detente was a result of gentle pressure exercised by both the USA and the USSR.
