Dr. Gasim Hayder is an Associate Professor for Civil and Environmental Engineering and Assistant Dean for Research and Graduate Studies. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia. He is MIET and Chartered Engineer (CEng) from the Engineering Council (UK). He teaches, conducts research and provides short courses and consultancy services to industry, especially in the field of water and wastewater assessment and monitoring, and active in environmental engineering and sustainable development. He is the research clusters coordinator and the chairman of clean water and environment at college of engineering and architecture University of Nizwa. He was the Head of Water & Environmental Engineering Unit at the Department of Civil Engineering Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and also served as the Head of Environment and Sustainable Development Cluster at the Institute of Energy Infrastructure (IEI). He has extensive practical engineering, teaching, and management experiences. He has more than two hundred publications of journals and books, reviewer for many top journals, member committee for several conferences, holds patents, and has received national and international awards.  

Ph.D. D.Eng. Jesús Rodrigo Comino, a graduate in Geography, currently works as an associate professor at the University of Granada and has been included in the World's Top 2% Scientists ranking by Stanford University since 2021. He got a master in Territorial Planning and Geographic Information Systems (2013). During his predoc stage, he obtained three scholarships for doctoral studies: DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), La Caixa Foundation and FPU (Ministry of Education, Spain). During this period, he completed his first doctoral thesis in geography between the University of Trier and Malaga in 2018. In 2023, he defended his second doctorate in engineering in geomatics at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. His research career consists of several complete monographs (Nova, Springer, etc.) and some edited books (Elsevier, Springer, CRC, Nova), >250 indexed publications in Scopus and WoS, leading international collaborations with research teams over the world.
