She is currently a professor of accounting at the University of Insubria. She holds a master's degree in Economics and Finance (University of Insubria) and a master's degree in Law (LIUC) and has conducted research and teaching in accounting, financial reporting and ESG issues.
Her research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including Economia Aziendale Online, Bilancio e Revisione and Sustainability, and she has contributed to edited volumes for academic publishers such as Guerini, Giuffrè Francis Lefebvre and IPSOA Wolters Kluwer. Her work covers topics such as corporate responsibility, SDGs, sustainable food consumption and the circular economy. Vota has also presented at major international conferences, including EURAM, the Academy of Management Annual Meeting and the European Accounting Association, and has participated in international research collaborations at the University of Ljubljana and the University of Lorraine.
