Shafiqul Islam earned his PhD from the University of Dhaka, Master s and Bachelor degrees from the University of Chittagong. He was the postdoctoral fellow at London School of Economics and Political Science, London, UK. With over thirty years of experience, his work spans the education and development sectors, focusing on Sustainable Waste Management, Organic Farming, Climate Change Adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction, Sustainable Development, and enhancing the social-ecological resilience of communities facing coastal disasters and environmental hazards. Dr. Islam is working as an Associate Professor at International University of Business Agriculture and Technology. Prior to his current position, he worked with the United International University, State University of Bangladesh and University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. Dr. Islam has authored and published 60 articles and titles in international peer-reviewed journals, as well as contributed many books and book chapters with Taylor and Francis, Apple Academic Press, Rutledge, Springer Nature, IGI Global, and Green Leaf and Nova Science Publishers. He has served as an editor, reviewer, and author for numerous books, articles, and book chapters with esteemed publishers. Dr. Islam contributed to the UN Sustainable Development Report in 2016.
