The Kurdish populations of Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran are influential strategic players during a period of immense uncertainty and instability in Middle East politics. There is a growing sense that this may be a time of significant change for the Kurds, as witnessed in recent developments in Iraq and Turkey. This volume provides a nuanced understanding of the complex web of relationships between Kurds and regional states and the major issues affecting the various Kurdish communities.
