This volume is the result of the Young Researcher Seminar held in Innsbruck, Austria, on the occasion of the World University Winter Games 2005. The topic under discussion was: 'Young Elite Athletes and Education - A European Perspective for Student-Athletes'. "Young Elite Athletes and Education" features nine papers, each of which was given the 'Young Researcher Award', as well as two other original research publications. The topics covered in these research papers include selection methods in youth sports, educational options for elite athletes, and career development or further education.
