Thom Kane works at the hottest ad agency in London, stuck on the dullest corporate accounts. It is the late '80s and he can sense the zeitgeist, but his career is stalled. On a Scottish island he meets Eliot, a charismatic young man and a prodigious guitar talent. Each sees in the other a way out.
Thom becomes Eliot's manager and hatches a bold plan to outplay the cynical music and media industries. Urged on by Rhona, an alluring artist and enchantress, their rise carries them from wild landscapes to rock and roll London and dazzling global success. Desire, deception and ambition begin to blur, and the music grows dangerously loud.
