Thicket Priory
was founded before 1180, possibly as early as 1162, and survived until it was
dissolved by Henry VIII in 1539. The story of this priory has been related in
the first booklet in this series, Thicket Priory I: Foundation to Dissolution. In
this second booklet the history of the site of Thicket Priory is charted, together
with the lives of its owners, up to and including the building of a capital
house named Thicket Priory (but now not a religious building), built close to
the site of the original Thicket Priory.
