Full Description
This book focuses on the role of the Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) class 1 antigens in the function of NK cells. It has been suggested that NK cell cytolytic triggering is facilitated by lack of MHC expression in the target cells. This "missing self hypothesis" has been postulated based on studies establishing that MHC class 1 molecules of the target and the host can influence NK reactivity against certain normal and malignant cells.
