Full Description
In an era when technology threatens the art of songwriting and production, 'old' music matters now more than ever. Those classic songs from decades ago that still carry so much power are each totally unique, but all were shaped by immense skill, hard work and moments of pure inspiration.
Now, esteemed producer Owen Cutts - who has brought his infectious passion to the world through his 'Old Music Friday' series - opens up his record collection to share fifty-two essential, groundbreaking songs, which anyone who cares about music should hear. By picking apart songs by artists ranging from Minnie Riperton to The Delfonics, The Beatles to Aretha Franklin and Al Green to Dusty Springfield, Owen delves into why these recordings still cut through the noise and connect so deeply with listeners.
This is a book for anyone looking to expand their sonic horizons, understand the creative process and lose themselves in great music. It's about songs that refuse to age, and why they still resonate all these years later.
