ELS Foundation Stage for Nursery and Foundation Stage supports all learners to develop their Phase 1 skills. The guidance can be used in Nursery, in your continuous provision in Reception/P1, or to support children for whom learning to read is more challenging due to additional needs.
The Principles of ELS Foundation Stage are based upon:
-Delivery of high-quality interactions and teaching
-Development of vocabulary and language
-The use of consistent terminology by teachers, children and parents
-The use of consistent planning that supports effective teaching
-Modelling effective communication
