PROMPT (PRactical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training) provides local multi-professional training resources for the management of a range of obstetric emergency situations. Over recent years there has been increasing evidence that PROMPT training has had a significant impact on outcomes for mothers and babies in the UK and internationally. The PROMPT CiPP (Care of the Critically ill Pregnant or Postpartum woman) Course is a constituent part of the third edition PROMPT 'Course in a Box', and provides training resources to support an additional, locally-run, multi-professional training programme for maternity staff involved in maternal critical care. The PROMPT CiPP Course Participant's Handbook is essential for all those attending a local PROMPT CiPP Course, and is also a valuable stand-alone textbook, for evidence-based, current information on maternal critical care.
