This book provides systematic guidance and theoretical basis for control theories and applications of fractional-order control systems. It describes the background, mathematical preliminaries, and recent progress with related illustrated examples, and proposes suggested future trends.
The authors describe control schemes based on the adaptive backstepping technique and sampled-data for nonlinear uncertain fractional-order systems and linear fractional-order systems or multi-agent systems. Secure control for linear fractional-order systems subject to cyber attacks is also studied. In addition, the fractional-order adaptive backstepping control problem for high-order uncertain nonlinear integer-order systems or multi-agent systems is also investigated as employing fractional-order controllers in integer-order systems can help increase additional control design degrees of freedom and enable superior control performance.
