This book adopts a multi-disciplinary approach to narcissism and its connection to evil, including psychology, mythology, theology, ethics, political science, and history. Cross-cultural myths have warned humanity of the perils of narcissism. The book argues that narcissism was the first sin of our first parents, Adam and Eve, as well as a sin before theirs—that of the fallen angel Lucifer. To that end, the nature and physics of angels are explored, and an account of why Lucifer rebelled against God. The psychology of narcissism is elucidated, including the most destructive narcissism—that of malignant narcissism and its role in the Lucifer Syndrome. Individual and collective examples of the Lucifer Syndrome are presented—those of serial killers, mass murderers, and the malignant nationalism of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan.
