Full Description
This textbook provides readers with a basic introduction to two topics: the field of sociology and Chinese society. Many Americans do not know what sociology is. Nor do they have much knowledge of China. The first two authors have been teaching sociology for a combined fifty plus years. They also have spent considerable time and energy conducting scholarly research on China in the subfields of family, education and language. These combined strengths and interests, along with a third author, born and raised in China, whose expertise is on women, family and health, has resulted in a unique fusion of perspectives and insights to pleasantly enlighten readers as they explore Chinese culture, norms, history and society.
