Full Description
This collection explores the interface of multimodal conversation analysis (CA) and video-mediated L2 interaction and its potential to advance methodologies for analyzing the context-specific complexities of video-mediated interaction using a rich body of natural data.
Chapters feature both a range of different learning and teaching contexts, including online classroom settings, workplaces, language cafes, virtual exchange, and online tutoring, as well as languages, including English, German, French, Norwegian, and Turkish. Drawing on diverse perspectives and technology-mediated settings, this book seeks to shed light on the potential of CA to address theoretical, methodological, and practical considerations toward advancing the study of L2 interaction and to raise key issues and questions about the use of CA as a research methodology.
This volume will be of interest to students and scholars in CA, second language acquisition, computer-assisted language learning, and teacher education.
