Developed by an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher and examiner, these posters stimulate discussion and help students give their views and opinions on a situation. Each card contains visual prompts and topics include travel, holiday, services, the environment, entertainment, and work. Cards have no wording on them so they can be used in a variety of contexts, tasks and languages. This work contains a teacher's manual with instructions for following the tasks, which include: making and responding to suggestions; discussing alternatives; making recommendations; eliciting opinions; negotiating agreement; and turn-taking. Through fun and enjoyable tasks, students will increase their ability and confidence in taking part in discussions, and improve their language and communication skills. It is suitable for all ESL classes at an intermediate level as well as for adult learning, and students with language delay. It is an excellent tool to prepare for part two of the Speaking Paper of Cambridge ESOL Preliminary English Test (PET). Similar to examination material, these posters will familiarise students with how testing is carried out and the type of visual stimuli that is used during examination.Intended for use in educational settings and/or therapy contexts under the supervision of an adult.
