Full Description
Emily Brontë's disturbing tale of obsessive love and revenge has haunted readers since its first publication in 1847. To commemorate the enduring appeal of, and fascination with, this classic novel, the British Library is presenting a facsimile of the first edition copy held in its archives. Two volumes are combined in a sumptuous cloth-bound clamshell box with a facsimile of a particularly special item from the collections. This is Emily's own copy of Poems, a collection she published with her sisters in 1846 prior to the success of Wuthering Heights. The unique quality of this copy is revealed in the author's hand-written notes on the pages throughout. It is signed and dated by her on the opening pages.
Brontë fans will now be able to own facsimile first editions of the two creative works Emily published during her short life, faithfully reproduced and presented together in a gorgeous box with gold foil details.
