When the mice find the cheese in the dairy, they fight to see who will eat it. But others have seen the cheese too. The Mathematics links in this story include dividing (a single unit into smaller equal pieces); rote counting in singles, twos, fives and tens; number/quantity correspondence and the use of counting to mark the passage of time (in the hide and seek game). Size, shape and comparatives are also introduced.
