Medication safety and error prevention are major areas of concern in healthcare. Information provided in this program includes the Six Rights of Medication Administration; descriptions of the various types of oral medications and reasons for their use; and descriptions of topical medications. Dispensing practices and systems are outlined and demonstrated with a focus on patient safety. Concepts taught are reinforced with the use of realistic scenarios.
