There are 2.4 million Filipino Americans, projected to become the largest Asian-American population in the latest census. Filipinos have a unique culturaly, religious, and historical background and, as a result, have mental health needs that differ significantly from other Asian American groups. Beginning with a short history of the Filipino American experience, the book then discusses identity development, values, and Filipino-American communities.
