Full Description
Atlas of Heart and Vascular Pathology presents disease entities through descriptions of gross and microscopic features in featuring images that are well-annotated. The authors illustrate with clarity common aspects of cardiovascular anatomy and pathology useful to medical and non-medical professionals who work on cardiovascular medical, surgical, technical and scientific fields. It is an indispensable reference to understanding the three-dimensional architecture of the heart to further understand how disease or pathologic processes affect its function. The atlas presents detailed knowledge of how the normal heart structure can adapt to physiologic processes and how this adaptation can progress into pathologic states. In modern practice there are many interventions available to address diverse structural components of the heart and vascular systems (coronary arteries, valves, pericardium, the heart muscle itself, and vessels), many such interventions will be demonstrated in the atlas. Complications of such interventions, causing pathologic changes are also illustrated. This resource aids to understand the anatomical features and landmarks of the cardiac structures affected by pathologic process or by interventions and surgical procedures. In addition, it can help cardiovascular imagers and radiologists evaluate anatomic structures and interpret pathologic alterations.
