Water Awareness is a training programme to address the Fire Service Manual Working on, in or near water Level 1 training requirements and is currently used across Fire and Rescue Services in England and Wales. The information contained in this programme is based on best practice guidance including the advice issued by the Water Working Group. Presented in 13 sections, the training programme on the DVD covers safety issues, hazards, control measures and self-protection techniques. The accompanying CD contains a glossary, training notes, a question bank and a cross-mapping exercise for Firefighter Rolemaps showing how the programme supports development. At the conclusion of each section, learners can assess their comprehension against the accepted criteria prior to progression to the next section.
