手書きを含むメーイの音楽・悲劇関係全著作を、一次資料において厳密に踏まえ、特に主著『古代旋法論』についてはラテン語の語法にも細心の注意を払い、旋法、古代悲劇上演形式、芸術体系と悲劇カタルシスに関する彼の理論を再構成する。さらに、唯一の詩作品「フュッリスについて」を手がかりとして人文主義への志向を明らかにする。
