Full Description
Pediatric orthopedics is a fundamental branch of orthopedics and, at the same time, represents a substantial part of a pediatrician's clinical activity. Inadequate management of this matter can lead to deleterious consequences for the child and to enormous waste from an economic point of view for families and the healthcare system.
This book adopts an original approach to the subject, starting from a semiological point of view (deformity, pain, swelling, and dysfunction), in order to immediately direct the consultation. It features dedicated text boxes titled "Not Just a Small Adult", aimed at orthopedic specialists who may lack direct experience in pediatrics. It also includes "Guidelines for Primary Care Physicians" boxes, designed for the doctors who are often the first to assess pediatric patients. The goal is to strengthen collaboration between general practitioners and orthopedic specialists, always with the young patient's best interest in mind.
