Bach schenkte seiner Ehefrau Anna Magdalena zwei handgeschriebene Notenhefte. Das zweite davon ist besonders wertvoll, mit einem pergamentüberzogenen Einband mit Goldschnitt versehen. In dieses Büchlein von 1725 notierte er zahlreiche Klavierstücke in den verschiedensten Stilen - eigene und solche von anderen Komponisten. Die Henle-Urtextausgabe, die übrigens zu den alljährlich am meisten verkauften Titeln unseres Katalogs zählt, gibt den gesamten Inhalt dieser Handschrift notengetreu und hervorragend von Hand gestochen wieder, ausgenommen die im Notenbüchlein enthaltenen Sätzen aus den "Französischen Suiten" (HN 593) und "Partiten" (HN 28), die man im Henle-Katalog bekanntlich an anderer Stelle findet.

Bach gave his wife Anna Magdalena two handwritten books of music. The second one is of particular value with its gilt-edged, vellum-covered binding. In this little book of 1725 he noted down numerous piano works in the most different styles - both his own and by other composers. The Henle Urtext edition, which incidentally is one of our bestselling titles, faithfully reproduces the complete contents of this manuscript, aside from the movements from the "French Suites" (HN 593) and "Partitas" (HN 28) in the notebook, which can be found elsewhere in the Henle catalogue. It is also an example of beautiful engraving by hand.
Bach fit cadeau de deux recueils manuscrits de partitions à sa femme Anna Madgdalena. Par sa reliure recouverte de parchemin et dorée sur tranche, le second est particulièrement précieux. Dans ce petit recueil (Büchlein) daté de 1725, il nota un grand nombre de pièces de sa propre plume, ou de celle d'autres compositeurs, destinées au clavier et dans tous les genres. Figurant chaque année au palmarès des titres les plus vendus de notre catalogue, l'édition Urtext parue chez Henle rend, gravé de manière remarquable à la main et de la manière la plus fidèle, l'intégralité de ce manuscrit, à l'exception des mouvements extraits des «Suites françaises» (HN 593) et des «Partitas» (HN 28) figurant également dans le Notenbüchlein, qui eux, comme chacun sait, se trouvent ailleurs dans notre catalogue.
