Neben dem unverwüstlichen cis-moll-Prélude (HN 1211) haben auch andere Préludes Rachmaninows eine "Solokarriere" gestartet: Dieses berühmte Stück in g-moll mit seiner mitreißenden Rhythmik und dem schwelgerischen Mittelteil gehört ganz sicher dazu. Wer sich noch nicht an den kompletten Zyklus der 24 Préludes (erhältlich als HN 1200) heranwagt, kann mit diesem Stück Rachmaninow "at his best" erleben. Für unsere Urtextausgabe der Préludes konnten in Kooperation mit dem Moskauer Glinka-Archiv die autographen Quellen gesichtet werden, sodass sich auch diese Einzelausgabe in exzellenter editorischer und notengraphischer Qualität präsentiert. Wie bei allen unseren Rachmaninow-Ausgaben stammt der Fingersatz von Marc-André Hamelin.

As indestructible as Rachmaninoff's c-sharp-minor Prélude (HN 1211) may be, it is not his only Prélude to have begun a "solo career" of its own: with its rousing rhythms and rhapsodic middle section, the famous piece in g minor certainly takes its place among them. Pianists who aren't yet ready to tackle the complete cycle of 24 Préludes (available as HN 1200) can still enjoy Rachmaninoff "at his best" with this work. In conjunction with Moscow's Glinka Archives, we were able to consult the autograph sources for our Urtext edition of the Préludes, which means that this single edition thus also benefits from the Urtext's excellent editorial and graphic quality. As with all of our Rachmaninoff editions, the fingerings were once again provided by Marc-André Hamelin.

Prélude g minor op. 23,5
Parmi les Préludes de Rachmaninov, celui en ut dièse mineur (HN 1211), inusable, n'est pas le seul à «avoir pris son indépendance». Le célèbre opus 23 n° 5 en sol mineur, avec son rythme prenant et sa partie centrale délectable, a aussi suivi cette voie. Il permettra à ceux qui n'osent pas encore aborder le recueil complet des 24 Préludes (HN 1200) de découvrir ici un Rachmaninov au sommet de son art. Pour notre édition Urtext des Préludes, nous avons pu consulter les manuscrits autographes, grâce au concours des Archives Glinka de Moscou. Le prélude publié séparément bénéficie de la même présentation éditoriale et graphique de qualité. Les doigtés sont de Marc-André Hamelin, comme pour toutes nos éditions de Rachmaninov.
