Das vielleicht berühmteste Klavierstück der Spätromantik endlich auch in Henle-Urtext-Qualität! Zuerst 1892 als Teil des Klavierzyklus "Morceaux de Fantaisie" op. 3 veröffentlicht, wurde das Stück vor allem durch die Tourneen des Pianisten Alexander Siloti, Rachmaninows Cousin, schnell auch im Ausland bekannt. Rachmaninow selbst konnte in Amerika bald kein Konzert mehr geben, bei dem nicht am Ende der Ruf "C sharp minor!" aus dem Publikum erklang ... Die donnernden Akkorde des Schlussteils sind legendär und dabei nicht so unspielbar schwer wie ihr Ruf.

Possibly the most famous late Romantic piano work and now finally also available in Henle Urtext! First published in 1892 as part of the piano cycle "Morceaux de Fantaisie" op. 3, the work also soon became well known abroad, in particular due to the concert tours given by the pianist Alexander Siloti, Rachmaninoff's cousin.
And even Rachmaninoff himself was soon no longer able to perform any concerts in America, without someone in the audience crying out "C sharp minor!" at the end ... The thundering chords of the final part are legendary and at the same time not as unplayable as one might have been led to believe.

Le morceau pour piano peut-être le plus célèbre du postromantisme enfin aussi en qualité Henle-Urtext! Parue tout d'abord en 1892, en tant que partie du cycle pour piano op. 3 intitulé «Morceaux de Fantaisie», la pièce devint aussi rapidement célèbre à l'étranger, avant tout grâce aux tournées du pianiste Alexander Siloti, le cousin de Rachmaninov. Rachmaninov ne put bientôt plus donner un seul concert en Amérique sans que le public ne crie à la fin «C sharp minor!» ... Les retentissants accords finaux sont légendaires, même si leur réputation d'être injouables est quelque peu surfaite.
