Die in diesem Band versammelten Vokalwerke verdanken ihre Entstehung den unterschiedlichsten Anlässen. Einige Kompositionen waren Sängerinnen aus Beethovens Umfeld auf den Leib geschrieben, mit anderen versuchte er sich (unter Anleitung von keinem Geringeren als Antonio Salieri) auf dem Gebiet der italienischen Oper. Neben Kernstücken des Repertoires wie "Ah! perfido" op. 65 enthält der Band auch unbekannte Kostbarkeiten wie die von Beethoven mehrfach revidierte Szene und Arie "No, non turbarti" - "Ma tu tremi, o mio tesoro?". Die letzte Fassung dieser Arie wird in unserer Ausgabe, die auf der Beethoven-Gesamtausgabe basiert, erstmals für die musikalische Praxis verfügbar gemacht._

The vocal works collected in this volume were composed for very different occasions. Several of them were tailor-made for female singers of Beethoven's acquaintance; with others he was trying his hand at Italian opera (under the guidance of none other than Antonio Salieri).
In addition to core repertoire pieces such as "Ah! perfido" op. 65, the volume also contains unknown treasures such as "No, non turbarti" - "Ma tu tremi, o mio tesoro?", a scene and aria which Beethoven revised several times. In our edition, based on the Beethoven Complete Edition, the last version of the aria is made available for musicians for the first time._

Les oeuvres vocales rassemblées dans ce volume procèdent des occasions les plus diverses. Quelques compositions sont écrites «sur mesure» par Beethoven pour des cantatrices de son entourage, pour d'autres il s'exerce (sous la direction du fameux Antonio Salieri) dans le domaine de l'opéra italien. À côté de pièces majeures du répertoire comme «Ah! perfido» op. 65, le volume renferme aussi des joyaux inconnus tels que scène et aria «No, non turbarti» - «Ma tu tremi, o mio tesoro?». La dernière version de cette aria est ainsi pour la première fois dans la présente édition, basée sur l'édition complète des oeuvres de Beethoven, mise à disposition de la pratique musicale._
