Bachs Inventionen und Sinfonien gelten zu Recht als unverzichtbar im Leben eines Pianisten. Der Komponist selbst nennt sein Werk in der berühmten Vorrede eine "Anleitung", die Schülern und Klavierliebhabern lehrt, sowohl mit zwei als auch mit drei Stimmen "wohl zu verfahren", die "cantable Art im Spielen zu erlangen" und "einen Vorschmack von der Composition" zu bekommen. Zu diesem Zweck schuf Bach zeitlos schöne Musik, die fast 300 Jahre nach ihrer Entstehung nichts von ihrer Aktualität eingebüßt hat. Wir legen nun eine Neu-Edition des Klassikers vor, die alle bekannten Quellen zu Rate zieht und dadurch vor allem zu den überlieferten Verzierungsvarianten das Beste an "Anleitung" bietet. Der neue Bach - ein Optimum für Pianisten jeden Alters.

Bach's Inventions and Sinfonias are rightly considered as indispensable to every pianist. In his famous preface to the collection, Bach himself called it an "Instruction" which teaches students and keyboard lovers to "treat correctly" both two and three voices, to "achieve a singing style in playing" and to "acquire a strong foretaste of composition". To this end, Bach created timelessly beautiful music which has lost nothing of its relevance to us nearly 300 years after its creation. We are now presenting a new edition of this classic collection, which draws upon all known sources and offers the best in "instruction", especially with respect to the transmitted embellishment variants. Les Inventions et Sinfonies de Bach sont considérées à juste titre comme indispensables à tout pianiste. Dans son célèbre avant-propos, le compositeur les qualifie lui-même de «guide» qui apprendra aux élèves et aux amateurs à jouer à deux et à trois parties «correctement», à «obtenir un jeu cantabile», et en même temps leur donnera «un avant-goût de la composition». Avec ce but pédagogique en tête, Bach a donné naissance à une musique superbe et intemporelle qui n'a rien perdu de sa pertinence près de 300 ans après avoir été écrite. Nous présentons une nouvelle édition de ce classique du répertoire, établie sur la base de toutes les sources connues à ce jour et qui offre ainsi le meilleur «guide», notamment sur les variantes d'ornementation. Le nouveau Bach - un «must» pour les pianistes de tout âge.
