L'ouvrage porte sur la redefinition du champ epique, en extension et en comprehension. Dans ce but, il propose conjointement de nouvelles lectures d'epopees ou de textes aux caracteristiques epiques reconnues et un panorama d'auteurs anglophones et francophones dont le dialogue avec le genre epique, la contribution a ce dire du plus-que-soi qu'est l'epopee, n'avaient pas jusqu'ici ete clairement identifies. Epics are rich in lists. This volume has its own lists to offer, starting with a rich crop of new names it brings into the epic field but it also takes a fresh look at work by authors more readily or even traditionally associated with the epic genre. The new readings of classic epic literature included here added to the analyses of new or newly found epic voices jointly and severally attempt to propose an analytical and extensional redefinition of (the) epic.
