Full Description

The Acts of the Tenth International Congress of Demotic Studies held in
Leuven illustrate the disciplinary diversity of the field. Apart from
new editions of documents (receipts, contracts, letters, oracle
questions,...) and presentations of new literary texts (including even
those referring to raining frogs), this volume also contains
contributions such as a new proposal to standardize transliterations, a
discussion of the classification of magical texts, or a survey of the
history of Demotic in Leuven. The volume will be of interest to
egyptologists, papyrologists, and ancient historians.
